The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in Switzerland has been quietly prodding U.S. banks to build databases to track their customers’ purchases of firearms and ammunition for reporting to the federal government.
In the name of identifying and stopping “mass shooters,” ISO, in alignment with the Biden regime’s anti-Second Amendment agenda, is pushing for all gun and ammo purchases in the United States to be tracked and traced using the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970 as cover.
That law, which mandates that banks help D.C.-based law enforcement in uncovering, investigating, and prosecuting violations of federal law, is morphing alongside the nation’s shifting policies surrounding the right to bear arms. Gun ownership in the U.S. is under attack, to put it frankly. Since they cannot just erase the Second Amendment, however, deep state globalists are getting crafty in the ways they probe Americans’ gun- and ammo-purchasing habits to eventually make it impossible for the Second Amendment to function as intended.
With further help from the USA PATRIOT Act, which was enacted immediately following the 9/11 false flag terror attack in 2001, ISO and other globalist gun-grabbing organizations hope to punish gun owners for purchasing too many guns and ammo.
Forming a cache of weaponry is fast-becoming “suspicious” in the former land of the free. Someone who buys a lot of guns and ammo could be planning to shoot up a school, we are told, so banks are now being encouraged to track and report such purchases by filing a “Suspicious Activity Report,” or “SAR.”
“The vast reach of the Patriot Act has been a shot of adrenaline to bank ‘secrecy’ laws, creating new sets of problems for banking customers, especially those who operate lawful businesses overseas or engage in transactions with foreign persons or businesses,” wrote former Rep. Bob Barr in a recent op-ed.
“Banks have at times decided it is easier to simply close down accounts of customers with overseas connections, rather than run the risk of coming under suspicion from Uncle Sam.”
Since the Patriot Act’s passage, banks have been forced to maintain a heap of onerous paperwork while following burdensome reporting requirements. That now includes devising new ways to “identify mass shooters before they strike.”
“Just how banks have gotten into the business of identifying potential mass shooters is linked to their ability to access purchase codes whenever one of their customers uses a bank-issued credit card,” Barr explains.
“Since every credit card purchase is embedded with an identifiable ‘merchant category code’ (MCC) – now including purchases at stores that sell guns and ammunition – banks are able to gather and database such information and share any resulting ‘suspicious’ purchases with the feds. How? Why by submitting an SAR!”
Amalgamated Bank is one such financial institution that has embraced this scheme. You may not have heard of it, but chances are you know about American Express, VISA, and Mastercard, which have also expressed support for more gun control.
Democrats like Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren are all about these schemes. Warren in particular has expressed an eagerness to track and trace credit and debit purchases of guns and ammo. This is why many Second Amendment advocates are choosing to stick with paying in cash whenever possible.
“Law-abiding citizens purchasing firearms and ammunition is NOT a violation of federal law,” emphasized one commenter about this latest gun control scheme. “Tracking what law-abiding citizens purchase or own IS a violation of the U.S. Constitution.”
