An investigation by The Guardian (United Kingdom) has found that a former Mossad intelligence agent out of Israel “threatened” the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to drop a 2021 war crimes probe.
Yossi Cohen, an ex-spy from Mossad, went after former ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda in a series of secret meetings at which he stalked the prosecutor for daring to look further into Israel’s alleged crimes against humanity in occupied Palestinian territories.
Citing multiple anonymous sources, a report on all this determined that Mossad’s objective with the threats was to “compromise the prosecutor or enlist her as someone who would cooperate with Israel’s demands.” The intelligence group also sought to pressure Bensouda to abandon her probe entirely.
Bensouda responded to the threats by briefing a small group of senior ICC officials about what happened, expressing concerns about Cohen’s “persistent and threatening nature.”
Cohen reportedly threatened Bensouda on multiple occasions with sources close to Bensouda confirming that the former Mossad chief used “despicable tactics” as part of an unsuccessful “stalking” effort to influence her decisions and behavior.
ICC officials were told that Cohen said to Bensouda that she “should help us and let us take care of you.”
“You don’t want to be getting into things that could compromise your security or that of your family,” Cohen continued to tell Bensouda in a threatening tone.

For nearly 10 years, Israeli intelligence has been trying to stop the ICC from investigating Israel for war crimes. These efforts have been unsuccessful, though, as the ICC’s Karim Khan, Bensouda’s successor, just applied for an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
These arrest warrants actually stem from the very same probe that Cohen was trying to stop, which was launched back in 2021 at the height of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “pandemic.”
Khan says there are “reasonable grounds to believe” that Netanyahu, Gallant and other top officials are guilty of “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in the Gaza conflict. Khan also issued arrest warrants for three senior members of Hamas.
Since Israel is not a member of the ICC, it is rejecting the warrants and disregarding their implications. The United States, Israel’s top ally, is also condemning the ICC with some U.S. lawmakers even going so far as to call for sanctions on The Hague court.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nations’ top court, similarly made accusations against Israel earlier this year, accusing the Zionist state of committing genocide in Gaza.
“This is internationalized thuggery,” one RT commenter wrote about Cohen and Mossad’s alleged actions. “Coming soon to a college campus or public rally near you (Anglo West).”
“This is just a warning,” wrote another about what Cohen and Mossad are allegedly doing. “They will be planning to silence all those who opposed Israel. They are too brutal and lawless.”
“Look how the so-called advanced military of Israel could not fight a conventional war with its enemies. While the Hamas and Hezbollah are targeting Israeli’s military, Israel is massacring women, children, babies, elderly, and patients and doctors in hospitals. A genocide cannot get more brutal than this.”
Someone else added to the conversation that this is typical Zionist behavior.
“Threats, coercion, bribery, blackmail, theft and murder are all par for the course for these Zionist thugs operating under the guise of Israel,” this person wrote.
